Our Plan...
Operations

Phoenix Communities of NOLA will operate Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
(The above outlines the logistics of a 3 pm-7 pm operation. As the center adds another hour of operation, the logistics will be modified)​

Each year, we will add an additional hour of operation until the after-school program operates until 10 pm.​

Transportation will be provided.

Afterschool Program is Free for all Students.

Students must be between the ages of 12-19 and attend a New Orleans Public School.
Logistics

Within the 1st hour - Students will have the opportunity to complete homework, meet with mental health counselors (as needed), decompress with tactile activities, and/or meditate.

Within the 1st and 2nd hour – Students will eat dinner and transition to their respective classes.

Within the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hour – Students will attend class sessions.

Upon leaving the center, students will be given snacks.

Class Sessions

Class sessions will encompass, but are not limited to: ACT/SAT Prep, STEM Activities, Journalism, Tutoring, Culinary, Construction, Artistry, Cosmetology, Barbering, Career Preparation, Dance/Theater, Kinesthetic activities, meditation/yoga, etc.

Class sessions will be offered in cycles. There will be at least 3 different classes offered per cycle. Each student will have the opportunity to attend 2 of the 3 classes offered each cycle.

The length of a cycle is one month.

Class sessions are 50 minutes.

Students will be given advance notice on when class sessions will be offered and have the ability to sign up for a class session during its respective cycle.
